Kannawidan

Kannawidan has been one of the most anticipated annual festivals in the province, enhancing Ilocano culture. One way to comprehend network is to consider it as a social structure in which humans establish a sense of similarity based entirely on their culture; therefore, the place to start with network is the culture (Cohen, 1985).

Kannawidan Festival is a festival that takes place from the last week of January to the first week of February. On the day of the outlet, a mass is usually held at the St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral. It is commemorated by a procession through the city of the Patron Saints of the forty parishes, as well as images of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary. It is the Ilocanos' way of surrendering to the Almighty. Another attraction that draws crowds is the set at Vigan Plaza Hotel, in which residents of Ilocos Sur dress up in retro attire and celebrate their birthdays to the tune of vintage songs, drowning in memories of vintage Ilocos. Plaza Salcedo also hosts a food pageant.

This competition was created by the local government of Ilocos Sur to encourage younger generations to learn about the province's indigenous songs and dances. Furthermore, this rivalry serves as a reminder that we must no longer ignore our subculture and practices.
